Figo Ford originally created for the Indian market is now upgraded to a global model, with exports (CBU) 7,000 units into South Africa over the past year. Ford Motor Company tried to expand this city car market to 50 countries, as reported by Rushlane.com (24/01/2011).

"Although our main focus to produce and market vehicles in India, we are also looking for new export opportunities," said Michael Boneham, President and Managing Director of Ford India. "The state is trying to target new including Mexico, North Africa and the Middle East, which begins next year," he said.
Figo use a 1.4 liter Duratorq diesel engine equipped with common rail 69 PS at 4,000 rpm and 1.2 liters of gasoline to power. Both use a 5 speed manual transmission and priced 349,900 rupees (USD 69.7 million) per unit in the local market.
Is Figo will enter Indonesia? PT Ford Motor Indonesia is not going to comment because it still focuses on selling latest model of the new Fiesta was launched in August 2010.
